Dubrovnik is one of the most powerful emerging destinations in recent years and has several elements that make possible the establishment of a chain of these features. First, the very situation of disused buildings owned ponds that are experiencing deterioration over time. Second, Croatia is marked by its seasonality as a destination and just the supply of luxury accommodation is an engine of stability and activation of domestic and international demand. Finally, the conversion of heritage projects are socio-economic activity, attracting customers with a high expenditure profile and generating jobs.

According to Matthew and Elizabeth Charlotte Llorens, Rusticae founding members of “The collaboration with the Croatian authorities confirmed that Spain does have innovative business models and solvents beyond traditional tourism. In this case, the Spanish participation not only brings his knowledge and experience but is capable of generating social benefits in terms of social and historical heritage through employment generation. Since we know Rusticae own needs and gaps that exist in the sector in our country, so it’s exciting move from zero to other emerging destinations such as Dubrovnik. ”

The role of Rusticae within the plan is to advise and participate in the creation of this network through the experiences in Spain over the past 15 years and implement this model taking into account the characteristics and peculiarities of the country.

Aleksandar Hajduk, channeler of the majority of Spanish investment in the area of the countries belonging to the former Yugoslavia is clear that “at this time, prior to EU accession, Spanish companies can not lose the opportunity to make known outside their knowledge and experience in the tourism industry, architecture and interior design. ”
